This chapter provides practical dialogues for situations you'll encounter regularly. Study the patterns, not just the words — these templates can be adapted by swapping vocabulary. Each dialogue shows natural conversation flow with the appropriate register (formal or informal) for the situation.
Meeting people
First impressions matter. Spanish has distinct formal and informal registers, and choosing the right one signals social awareness. Use formal forms (usted) in professional settings and with anyone older until invited to use informal (tú). Latin America tends more formal overall; Spain uses informal forms more freely.
Formal introduction
